Matthew Brosnan's Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Week 4 Quarterbacks

Updated: Oct 1, 2020

Today sees us proudly introduce a second new face to GridironXtra.com, our new Fantasy Football Analyst: Matthew Brosnan.

Matthew has been an avid NFL fan for 7 years and follows the Houston Texans. Follow him here on Twitter for more fantasy nuggets: @mattybrosnan. Matthew begins with his week 4 'Start 'Em, Sit 'Em' Fantasy Football Quarterback picks.

Start 'em:

Kyler Murray

Arizona Cardinals @ Carolina Panthers

Kyler had a down week in week 3 by his standards but still put up big numbers (270 passing yards, 2 TDs & 29 rushing yards, 1TD). Going up against the Panthers defense expect Kyler to have a huge game, both passing and rushing. The number 5 ranked QB should continue to get plenty of points in fantasy in week 4.

Russell Wilson

Seattle Seahawks @ Miami Dolphins

This one really goes without saying, but Wilson has looked like an MVP and a fantasy machine through three weeks and I don't expect that to change against the Dolphins. With the Seahawks averaging 37 PPG and with Wilson being asked to throw more than ever this could be a huge start for your QB position.

Ben Roethlisberger

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tennessee Titans

Ben has had a very mediocre start this season for many fantasy owners and with the 3-0 Titans to come next, many owners may be looking to bench him. This however could be a huge game for Roethlisberger. The Titans are the 28th best team in the league against the pass and with weapons all around I'd expect a big game this week.

Baker Mayfield

Cleveland Browns @ Dallas Cowboys

If ever there was a week for Baker to look like a number 1 overall pick then this is it. Dallas have been woeful on defense this year and Baker has too many weapons not to have a big game this week. With the Browns finally having a winning record, this game seems like their most important in years.

Sit 'em:

Cam Newton

New England Patriots @ Kansas City Chiefs

Cam looks like 2015 MVP Cam, and with the Chiefs coming next, I can see the temptation to start him. However, Steve Spagnuolo and his defence just did a job on the current MVP Lamar Jackson. The Chiefs’ game plan shouldn't need to alter too much this week against Newton from the one they employed and found great success with on MNF.

Nick Foles

Chicago Bears vs Indianapolis Colts

Don't do it. After his heroic 16-point 4th quarter comeback against the Falcons last week, many people have dived onto the waiver wire to pick up Foles. I think that performance said more about the Falcons than it did Nick Foles and playing the number 1 ranked defense in football against the pass this week, Foles is a must not start.

Tom Brady

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Los Angeles Chargers

Bench the GOAT at your own risk but with Joey Bosa rampaging along the D-Line the Bucs are not going to have Brady sit back in the pocket and pass. They should be leaning heavily on their run game which wouldn't leave many points available for Brady.

Drew Brees

New Orleans Saints @ Detroit Lions

It is safe to say Brees is missing Michael Thomas and against Matt Patricia's defense I expect he'll continue to miss Michael Thomas. The Saints may get the win here but it will be because of Alvin Kamara. Brees' yards per pass attempt are at a career low and that's not a recipe for a fantasy success. The Lions also have a surprisingly impressive record against smaller QB's and proved that last week by taking down the Cardinals and Kyler Murray.
