Fantasy Football Week 7 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Quarterbacks

By Matthew Brosnan.

Start 'em:

Carson Wentz

Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants

The Philadelphia Eagles have been bad this season, however despite what many media are saying, Carson Wentz hasn't been. Especially not in Fantasy football, where he ranks 10th among all Quarterbacks. In week 6 against the elite Baltimore Ravens defense, Wentz put up a season high 29 Fantasy points. Wentz has 8 passing touchdowns on the season so far and is a threat rushing the football too, with 4 rushing touchdowns to date. With all still to play for in the NFC East I would expect another big game for Carson Wentz.

Matthew Stafford

Detroit Lions @ Atlanta Falcons

No team in the NFL gives up more Fantasy points to the Quarterback position than the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons give up 29.9ppg to quarterbacks and I'd expect Stafford to put up big numbers and put the Lions on a two game winning streak. Through six weeks of the season , Stafford has thrown for over 200 yards in every game and has a passing touchdown in each game. With Stafford coming off his worst Fantasy performance of the season in week 6 though I would expect a big bounce back game for the former number 1 overall pick.

Drew Brees

New Orleans Saints vs Carolina Panthers

With the Saints coming off a bye this week, I really like the match up for Drew Brees and the rest of the offense. With star wide receiver Michael Thomas expected back this week after a training altercation, expect Brees to get him reintegrated into the offense quickly and come out throwing the football. Many are doubting Brees' arm but Sean Payton clearly is not. Last time out Brees attempted a season high 47 passes and I would expect similar numbers against the Panthers, who in his career Brees has 34 passing touchdowns against.

Sit 'em:

Jared Goff

Los Angeles Rams vs Chicago Bears

For some reason the Rams offense does not seem to be clicking like many thought it would. They now host the Chicago Bears who lead the league with the fewest amount of points given up to the Quarterback position, allowing just 12.5ppg. In week 6, Goff threw for under 200 yards for the first time this season and I would not expect much improvement on that number this week.

Jimmy Garoppolo

San Francisco 49ers @ New England Patriots

What a story it could be if Garoppolo goes into Foxborough and wins. I however do not see it panning out that way for the former Patriot. The 49ers are a run first team and will have to be this week as the Patriots allow only 16 Fantasy points per game to the Quarterback position. Despite his highest scoring week of the season in week 6, I wouldn't expect Garoppolo to duplicate that form, if there is a coach in the league that knows Garoppolo and knows a game plan to stop him, it will be Bill Belichick.

Derek Carr

Las Vegas Raiders vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers allow the 3rd lowest points per game to the quarterback position with a very impressive 14 points. Against the Chiefs last time out Carr had his performance of the season with 24 Fantasy points, however after the beat down that the Bucs defense just put on MVP candidate Aaron Rodgers, I wouldn't hold out too much hope for the Raiders offense and Derek Carr.
