Fantasy Football Week 6 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Quarterbacks

By @mattybrosnan.

Start ‘em:

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets

Once again in week 5 Fitzpatrick shocked the world by putting a beat down on the 49ers, scoring a season high 28 Fantasy points. All looked set for the Dolphins to lose in week 5 and throw Tua Tagovailoa in there for the easy run in of fixtures that are in front of the Dolphins. After his performance of the season Fitzpatrick gets to start the easy run with a very favourable match up this week against the abysmal New York Jets. Fitzpatrick is the number 7 ranked fantasy QB and with the Jets releasing Le'Veon Bell it all but confirms they are tanking. Expect Fitzpatrick to have a huge game dropping something in the 30 points range.

Kirk Cousins

Minnesota Vikings vs Atlanta Falcons

Yes, Cousins has been very underwhelming for Fantasy football owners this season. However, his star running back is questionable and even if he sees the field, his touches will be limited forcing Cousins to throw the football much more than he has this season. Luckily for Cousins, he faces the 31st best team against the pass this week, the Atlanta Falcons who allow 336 passing yards per game. The Falcons just sacked their head coach Dan Quinn who was much loved in the locker room so I wouldn't expect a similar level bounce back game from them than what we saw with the Texans in week 5.

Ben Roethlisberger

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cleveland Browns

The Steelers are facing the 30th best team in the NFL against the pass and after last week’s breakout game by Chase Claypool, they have no limit of players that can cause problems for the Browns secondary. Roethlisberger is playing like an MVP candidate and like Russell Wilson, he's never even received a vote for league MVP. I expect Ben to come out like a man on a mission, to keep the unbeaten streak alive and to remind everyone just how good the 17th year man can be.

Sit 'em:

Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills vs Kansas City Chiefs

In the week 5 game against the Titans, Josh Allen looked far from the MVP candidate he had be hailed as by many. The Bills recorded their first loss of the season and Allen had his worst fantasy performance of the season too, scoring only 16 points. The Chiefs defence is much improved this season and ranks 6th in the NFL against the pass and coming off a longer rest than the Bills I expect Allen to struggle again this week.

Deshaun Watson

Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans

This is a huge game in the Texans’ season. If they have any realistic hope of the play-offs, they need a win against their undefeated division rival here, however I don't think that it will be a win for Houston. After the multiple positive tests for COVID on the Titans I think many expected them to struggle when finally playing again, however this couldn't have been further from the truth and the defense put a huge performance up against Josh Allen and the Bills on Tuesday night. I expect that same motivation from the defense this week and to really get after the Texans O-line and make Watson struggle.

Joe Burrow

Cincinnati Bengals @ Indianapolis Colts

The Colts rank number 1 in the NFL against the pass, allowing under 180 yards per game and the defense has showed no signs of slowing down unlike Burrow and the Bengals offense. Burrow had his worst start in his young NFL career in week 5, not scoring a touchdown and registering just 4 Fantasy points. Now playing against the league’s number 1 defense, I don't see too much hope of a bounce back game for the number 1 pick and would leave him on the bench for your fantasy football team this week.
