NFL DRAFT PROSPECTS BY POSITION

*Player Profiles to be added for each prospect between now and the 2021 NFL Draft

1

WYATT DAVIS, OHIO ST

OVERALL RANK: 26

WYATT DAVIS NFL DRAFT PLAYER PROFILE

  • An extremely strong and powerful guard who excels in the run game.

  • Would be an instant plug and play selection at right guard, but possesses untapped potential in the passing game thanks to his excellent balance and speed out of his stance.

  • Has a violent first punch and locks onto defenders, always ensuring that he finishes the play, looking for linebackers to destroy at the second level.

  • Lauded for his effort, Davis has great length for the position but maintains an exceptional anchor, meaning that if he can convince teams that he can evolve in the passing game, then he could be the best guard to enter the league since Quenton Nelson.

2

ALIJAH VERA--TUCKER, USC

OVERALL RANK: 30

ALIJAH VERA-TUCKER NFL DRAFT PLAYER PROFILE

  • I have rarely seen such composure when faced with stunts, twists or blitzes. Nothing fazes Vera-Tucker, and he does not skip a beat in passing off or picking up defenders.

  • The game seems to slow down for him when there is movement on the defensive line – either playing as guard or tackle his awareness is elite.

  • In pass-pro, he gains good depth on his kick slide and shows good lateral agility to mirror pass pushers deep round the arc or to counter inside moves as he can maintain a vice like grip.

  • He rarely has to flip his hips early and go into recovery mode. He has sufficient anchor and plays with enough flexibility to neutralise a bull rush but not a true people-mover when heads up with defensive tackles.

  • Since moving to tackle there seems to be an inefficiency of movement, particularly with his hand usage.

  • With the long list of strengths such as his composure, lateral agility and glimpses of engaging targets at the second level, Vera-Tucker could be a day one starter at guard in a zone blocking scheme.
